Capy

Downloads

Download Capy for your computer. Free, in beta.

v1.0.7

LatestBeta

Released October 22, 2026

macOS

Stable

macOS 12 or later, on Apple Silicon (M1 or later) or Intel.

Drag Capy into Applications. The first time, open it from System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway (it's signed but not yet notarized). After that it updates itself.

Windows

Unstable

Windows 10 (22H2) or later, 64-bit.

  1. Download Capy’s certificate. Open the certificate and choose Install Certificate.
  2. Choose Local Machine, then place it in the Trusted People store.
  3. Open the .msix file and choose Install. Windows only needs the certificate once. Already have Capy? Install over it: never remove it first, that deletes what's on this computer.

Linux

Unstable

A 64-bit distribution on x64 or ARM64. The AppImage runs as is.

Open a terminal and paste this once. It expects the file in Downloads. Capy then adds itself to your app menu: from then on, open it from there, and it updates itself.

cd ~/Downloadsf=Capy-linux-$([ "$(uname -m)" = x86_64 ] && echo x64 || echo arm64).AppImagechmod +x "$f" && "./$f"

If it doesn’t open and the terminal mentions FUSE (Ubuntu and Debian), install it and try again.

sudo apt install libfuse2

Windows and Linux are first test builds: they install and update themselves like the Mac app, but few people have used them yet. Tell us how they run.

What's new
  • Updates heal themselves: a failed update tries again on its own, a new version that doesn't start puts the previous one back, and on a Mac Capy offers to move itself into Applications so it can update. Nobody has to install it again
  • Four languages: English, Português, Español and العربية, right to left
  • Threads: reply to any message in a thread, with its own replies, mentions and files
  • In a call: quick polls, planning poker and fist of five; breakout rooms that anyone can start, with nobody hosting; present a PDF page by page; a connection card for each person, and a connection test before you join
  • The agenda counts down each item, and the call can vote to move on. A repeating meeting opens with what happened last time, and every call leaves a recap in the room
  • The canvas: a retro where everyone's notes stay hidden until all are ready, and boards from templates (Kanban, Scrum, mind map, SWOT and more) whose cards are the room's tasks
  • With a model downloaded, on your own computer: catch me up when you join late, a live summary, chapters in the transcript, decisions and tasks found for you to confirm, unanswered questions, Prepare me before a meeting, your daily check-in drafted from what you said, and ask the past without leaving the call
  • Better transcription: Whisper large-v3 Turbo and Parakeet TDT 0.6B v3
  • On Windows and Linux, closing the window keeps Capy in the tray
  • Settings → Devices no longer lists ghost copies of the same computer, and can remove them in one click. The room's side panels share one width and the header never runs out of the window

Once installed (on a Mac, in Applications), Capy updates itself over the peer-to-peer network. You don't need to come back here for new versions.

Beta software: features may change and data may be lost. Keep copies of anything that matters, and your 24 words somewhere safe.
